NTP in Cisco devices

How could configure Cisco device as NTP Server?

I want to configure R1 as a NTP server…

Begin by setting the accurate time on the router. In this example, let’s set the time to 23:22:00 on November 6, 2015.

R1#clock set 23:22:00 6 NOV 2015

Now, designate R1 as an NTP server:

R1(config)#ntp master

This step ensures that R1 is functioning as an NTP server, providing time synchronization to other devices.

Next, configure Router2 (R2) as an NTP client to synchronize its date and time with the NTP server (R1 in this example). Assuming the IP address of R1 is 192.168.1.1:

R2(config)#ntp server 192.168.1.1

This command informs R2 to synchronize its time with the NTP server located at the specified IP address (192.168.1.1).

R2(config)#ntp update-calendar

Now, R2 will regularly synchronize its time with the NTP server (R1), ensuring accurate and consistent timekeeping across the network. Adjust the IP addresses and specific time settings as needed for your network configuration.
